Jesus' Three Roles

The essence of Jesus is love. Jesus did not have to read about God. He felt God. With every breath, with every bird darting through the sky, with every child giggling.

Jesus felt each person's hard anguish, too, their lamentable situations and wronged feelings. He just knew, because the sensoriness of divinity is immediate. Likewise, he could tell what people were thinking, especially as people devised ways to trick him.

Jesus experienced awareness that comes with blank, vulnerable intuition. His first nature. No instructor in the meditative arts ever came by Jesus' house.

His role as messiah meant a few things.

First, he was an owner or master; all things magnetically moved toward Jesus. He being their true owner.

Second, Jesus knew the secrets of the universe, not to keep for himself, but to teach. His role is to teach us the mysteries of God. He spent much of his time expounding on the truth, guiding us to understand the truth.

Third, Jesus came to give us rebirth. He was in the potential position of a father to us, that's why he urged us to be reborn. We are born through parents. Jesus role is that of our parent. Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we are reborn -- not as Christians, but as adopted sons and daughters of God. He adopts us as his children.

Jesus was the first person ever to call us the "children of God." That name, that term does not occur anywhere in the Old Testament. It adorns us. As never before. First used by Jesus. We must never think lightly of being a child.

We are the children of God, co-owners with Christ, who teaches us. Three roles Jesus fulfilled, lived out and expressed through his life.

Eugene Harnett and Yoshi
Eugene Harnett and Yoshi

Hi, I'm Eugene Harnett

Highly Trained by my wife

Back in '82, I married into another country, another race, another language and culture, another way of doing things, simple things, like organizing kitchen shelves, tying shoes, shopping for bread, all different... when I married my beloved from Japan, Yoshi.

We were introduced by our favorite pastor but could not be more opposite, except our birth dates which shoulder each other. Our marriage turned out to be a blessing. I'm a pastor, an uncle, and a grandpa. Stick around, you might learn something from our boiling marriage stew.
