Only words to magnify the Impossible, Invisible, Incredible Creator.
I'm reading a lot about Jesus. And I'm writing about Jesus. Let me tell you, his essence isn't that he's the Messiah. Follow me. I'm not being antagonistic.
I love Jesus but for more than being my Savior and Messiah. I love him for being the Son. God called him "My Son." Jesus' essence is the identity God gave him.
Me? The identity I gave Jesus? It is "Lord and Savior." That is Man's viewpoint.
God's viewpoint: Jesus is God's first son, the only one who could completely absorb all of God's love in all of history and be the perfect reflector of that love. Jesus said, "When you see me, you see the Father." It meant Jesus embodied all the nature of Heavenly Father.
He felt God's love directly. Felt. He did not intellectualize God's love, like many of us do at first. Jesus directly felt God's love reverberating inside the cells of his body. Closer than taste buds.
Jesus tried to convey that love to us, to us who couldn't feel much from heaven, who dully know if its daytime out. Jesus had to open our minds. Had to tell us stories. Parables, allegories, things attached to this earth that could hint what heaven is like.
So, let's imagine Jesus had to - in the language of a marketer - make advertisements for his product: God's love. In the making of, say, an ad for the radio, it is audible. Only. No visual. If you make an ad with music, music that lifts you up, makes you feel peppy, but music alone, that ad with no words, with just melody, you as a radio listener do not realize, nor know, you are being advertised to.
In reality, you haven't been. The next song follows it and you never knew about the previous ad. It just sounded like another song on the radio, right?
An ad needs words. Words describe the product, the value, the features, the benefits, the sparkle. Words. Jesus could not explain the love he experienced with God with mere music, with only emotion. He had to involve the use of language. Words.
Jesus spoke often. His words - transfigured now into Scripture verses - convicted his disciples of the invisible aspect of the God he knew, that glorious energy of agape which overwhelmed his daily routine.
But it's a little like Michael Jordan, though an excellent professional basketball player, teaching you how to shoot. He says, "Hey, shoot like this," as he pops it in. So natural. It looked so easy.
That's how we want our relationship with the eternal world, with the love of heaven, with the magnificent invisible God, the God whom Jesus taught us all about. May we feel You, like Jesus did.

Highly Trained by my wife
Back in '82, I married into another country, another race, another language and culture, another way of doing things, simple things, like organizing kitchen shelves, tying shoes, shopping for bread, all different... when I married my beloved from Japan, Yoshi.
We were introduced by our favorite pastor but could not be more opposite, except our birth dates which shoulder each other. Our marriage turned out to be a blessing. I'm a pastor, an uncle, and a grandpa. Stick around, you might learn something from our boiling marriage stew.
